PETROGAS’ ALTERNATIVE AND RENEWABLE ENERGY STRATEGIES

RENEWABLE HYDROCARBONS/ADVANCED BIOFUELS Production Units
PETROGAS now offers continuous Renewable Hydrocarbons modular processing technology for the production of Advanced Biofuels. Based on the [waste] biomass input streams, PETROGAS’ technology produces the following Advanced Biofuels:

1. Renewable Jet Fuel: PETROGAS' technology produces ASTM D7566-compliant, biomass-based, Renewable Jet Fuel. (In fact, our Renewable Jet Fuel, tested by the USAF Fuel Testing Laboratory at Wright-Patterson AFB to meet JP-8 Standards, is chemically compliant with ASTM D1655.)
2. Renewable Diesel: PETROGAS' technology produces a biomass-based Renewable Diesel, chemically compliant with ASTM D975 and ASTM D396.
3. Renewable Naphtha: PETROGAS' technology produces a light naphtha. This can be reformed into a high-grade Renewable Gasoline, or conversely, processed into value-added chemical derivatives.
4. Renewable Gasoline
5. Dimethyl Ether (DME)

BY-Product Processing/Emissions recycling
6. Cellulosic Alcohol: Often, there is a Carbon Monoxide (CO) and/or Carbon Dioxide (CO2) by-product from the processing. PETROGAS’ technology converts the CO/CO2 into Cellulosic Alcohol and/or Renewable Hydrocarbons (Gasoline, Diesel, DME, Jet Fuel). Therefore, our process is not merely carbon-neutral, but carbon-negative. (See CO2 Capture and Recycling Technology)
7. Renewable Propane: Depending upon which feedstock is selected, a Renewable Propane (C3H8) can be produced as a by-product.

Biomass-based Renewable Hydrocarbons are chemically identical to their petro-based homologues in every way (other than being petroleum distillates). Renewable Hydrocarbons offer the following advantages over other fuels:
Because they are biomass-based, they are not only renewable (and sustainable), but also carbon-neutral and therefore, compliant with EPA’s RFS2 by definition.
Renewable Hydrocarbons do not have the cold weather problems associated with mono alkyl esters (biodiesel).
Feedstock Flexibility: Renewable Hydrocarbons processing technology is feedstock- flexible: Renewable Hydrocarbons can be produced from low-cost, high FFA-content wastestreams as well as virgin plant oils.
Renewable Hydrocarbon processing is “tunable”: the product mix can be optimized to yield more or less of any of the three (3) principal products.
Renewable Hydrocarbons are Advanced Biofuels and are therefore eligible not only for Tax Credits but Advanced Biofuels Payments.
All of the above Advanced Biofuels are pipeline-compatible, fungible assets.

BIOMASS TO ENERGY
PETROGAS does not believe in using food crops for energy when people are still dying from hunger in our world. Thus, we have developed technologies that can utilize any agricultural residues (the stems, stalks, leaves, empty fruit branches, etc.) as well as animal and marine wastes as feedstock for Renewable Power Generation. This has a direct bearing on Distributed Power Generation: This technology can provide energy in the form of Heat and Power (electricity) in the most remote agricultural/agrarian communities, regardless and/or independently of infrastructure, or the lack thereof. Conversely, it can also be used to provide Refrigeration, Chilling and Air Conditioning, if desired. In yet another application, these agricultural waste streams can be used to produce Advanced Biofuels (including liquid biofuels). This technology is carbon-neutral and can be made carbon-negative with PETROGAS’ Emissions Recycling System (ERS).

WASTE (MSW) TO ENERGY
PETROGAS’ Alternative/Renewable Energy technology works even better with MSW: In many urban environments, incredible amounts of trash and garbage are discarded every day, causing dangerous and unsightly landfills and huge mountains of harzardous materials. Our technology converts the organic contents (human wastes, wood, paper, food wastes, plastics [especially plastic bags and bottles], used tires, etc.) into energy for Renewable Power Generation. These waste streams are a renewable and sustainable source of feedstock that PETROGAS’ technology transforms into electricity, heat, and Advanced Biofuels. And, as in the case of the above systems, it can also be used to provide Refrigeration, Chilling and Air Conditioning. This technology is also considered to be carbon-neutral and can be enhanced by PETROGAS’ technology to make it carbon-negative.

In both cases, the applications may be eligible for "Carbon Credits". In the United States, these systems will generate Renewable Energy Production credits as well as RINS and may be eligible for Advanced Biofuels Production Payments.

Like all PETROGAS bio-systems, these have been designed as modular, "drop-in" units that can be located almost anywhere. They are self-sufficient, using a very small part of the produced power for processing. Optional PLC capability is available for remote monitoring and control.
